As a working mom, Professional Kim Jung-hwa makes a great use of the welfare and community facilities to raise her quality of life and direct all her focus on her work. Let’s take a look around some of the welfare and community facilities in LG Sciencepark that she often uses.

“These are what you should know about the welfare and community facilities in LG Sciencepark to boost your work efficiency!”

LG Sciencepark Daycare Center
Every morning, Professional Kim comes to work with her child to LG Sciencepark. Daycare Center saves her the hassle of taking her child to some other place each morning and also makes her feel safer because she can just run to the center if something urgent pops up. LG Sciencepark Daycare Center currently cares for about 300 children of workers who work in companies operating in LG Sciencepark. The center is open for 12 hours from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., taking a big burden off working moms in taking care of their children.

LG U+ Gallery C
As a lover of art exhibitions, Professional Kim often goes to Gallery C located on the first floor of LG U+. This is an open cultural art space created on the lobby lounge with the purpose of fostering creative inspirations for the researchers and visitors of LG Sciencepark through various modern artwork. Watching the modern art pieces, she can get new inspirations and refresh her mind. They hold a new exhibition every two to three months, and waiting for the next event wondering which artist and artwork will be featured is another thing she enjoys.

Fitness Center
For Professional Kim, it is not easy to make time to work out, so she often uses the in-house Fitness Center during her lunchtime. The center is equipped with various exercise machines including 41 treadmills and six cycles and also locker rooms and shower rooms. It can accommodate about 150 people at a time. There are professional trainers on stand-by to teach you how to use the exercise machines so you can do some serious work-out. (The center is currently closed due to COVID-19.)

Healthcare Room
Professional Kim admits that working and childcare prevent her from going to hospital for small illnesses like headache and indigestion. In Healthcare Rooms in LG Electronics and LG CNS buildings, you can receive health checkups and simple treatments. They also have over-the-counter drugs that need no doctor’s prescription. Also, there are periodic healthcare programs to care for the workers’ health. She says she regularly goes there to check her physical conditions using measurement devices like the blood pressure and body composition machines.

Smart Store
The convenience store is a great resting place for workers who are feeling low energy and stressed. LG CNS Smart Store is unmanned, and you don’t even have to bring your wallet there. The AI-based image recognition technology recognizes the workers’ faces and the products. Thanks to facial recognition, there is no need to scan the barcode on each product, and all you need to do to pay for the items is to put them on the payment table. Hence the term “Smart Store.”

Culture Community
Culture Community is a cultural space where employees from different subsidiaries can gather and enjoy their hobbies. Professional Kim often comes here to do meditations or play table tennis with her colleagues to let out some stress. Any member of LG Sciencepark can freely use this place after making reservation.
